Funky Monkey Bar & Restaurant started with the vision of award winning bartender Gurung Dammarsing (Dipen). Dipen has won "42 Below Cocktail Competitions" locally in Hong Kong and was also the finalist at the "42 Below Cocktail World Cup" in New Zealand on 2008. With over 15 years of experience and knowledge in bartending and F&B industry, he decided to venture into the industry and bring his own unique vision to life by opening "Funky Monkey Bar & Restaurant" in 2016.
Funky Monkey is something that is quirky and resonates the nature of our business. “Funky”represents the vibes of the bar and restaurant as well as the cross-pollinating cuisines and drinks that we serve. “Monkey” symbolizes the energy and playful nature of the place as well as represents the Chinese zodiac year when the 1st branch opened for business in 2016 which we believe also epitomizes good luck for us.
